John E.H. Hancock papers

Overview

John E. H. Hancock (1929-1989) taught at Reed College for his entire career as a Chemistry Professor; he also helped initiate the Collegium Musicum and played several early instruments. His papers comprise the manuscripts for two works, "Guides to Research in Organic Chemistry" and "On the Christening of Organic Compounds, a study in Organic Chemical Nomenclature", co-written with Ned Hall.

Overview

Professor John Pock (1926-2012) was an iconic sociology teacher at Reed who influenced many generations of students during his tenure from 1955 through 1998. He received the Contributions to Teaching Award of the American Sociological Association in 1982, and his students presented him with a Festschrift, Social Differentiation and Social Inequality: Essays in Honor of John C. Pock, in 1996. His Papers include his publications along with notes, class lectures, and correspondence.
